Car servicing and maintenance

We service your car according to the manufacturer's schedule and its mileage: oil, filters, brakes, tyres and batteries. We tell you what's due now and what's worth planning for later, and we don't replace anything without your approval.

Changing the oil filter from underneath a car

What we check in a service

  • Oil and oil filter change
  • Air and cabin filters (and the fuel filter when the manufacturer requires it)
  • Fluid levels: coolant, brake fluid and screenwash
  • Brakes: pads, discs and fluid
  • Tyres: wear and pressure
  • Battery: we test its capacity
  • Whatever the manufacturer's plan sets for your mileage, such as the timing belt

Before replacing anything we tell you what we found and what it costs. We only replace what's needed and show you the old part.

Keep your manufacturer's warranty

In the European Union you can have your car serviced at an independent garage without losing the manufacturer's warranty, as long as their specifications are followed and equivalent-quality parts are used. We use original or equivalent-quality parts, whichever you prefer.

A check-up to plan your costs

If you want to know what your car will need over the coming months, we do a mechanical check and a quote so you can plan the costs without surprises. Many garages don't offer this.

Brakes, suspension and engine

We check the other filters too

When we change the oil we also look at the other filters, such as the cabin filter: a worn-out filter is the usual cause of a damp smell inside the car.

Tyres and batteries

We sell, fit, repair and balance tyres. Before replacing a battery we test it; if it needs replacing, we order it and fit it for you.

Timing belt

We replace timing belts and chain tensioners, and check the water pump and coolant leaks. It's a job you shouldn't put off: if the belt snaps, the engine can be seriously damaged.

If your car has been parked for months

Many of our customers spend part of the year outside Spain. If your car has been parked for several months, it's worth checking the battery, tyres, brakes and fluid levels before using it again. Message us with your number plate and we'll tell you what to check.

Frequently asked questions

Servicing and maintenance

What does a car service include?

An oil and filter change, plus a check of the brakes, tyres, battery and fluid levels, and whatever the manufacturer sets for your mileage. We also check the other filters even if they're not due: we have sometimes found filters that should have been changed and weren't.

Will I lose my manufacturer's warranty if I don't service at the dealer?

No. In the European Union you can have your car serviced at an independent garage without losing the warranty, as long as the manufacturer's specifications are followed and equivalent-quality parts are used. We follow your manufacturer's plan and record it on the invoice.

How much does a service or an oil change cost?

It depends on the car, the engine and what's due at your mileage. Message us on WhatsApp with your number plate and we'll give you the quote before we start, separating what's essential from what can wait, so you decide.

Do I need an appointment for an oil change?

We work by appointment, but we also see you without one. We're a small family garage and we fit around your schedule whenever we can.

How often should I change my car's oil?

The manufacturer sets it depending on the engine and the oil, usually every 15,000 to 30,000 km or once a year. With your number plate we can tell you your car's interval.

How often should the timing belt be changed?

The manufacturer sets it in kilometres and in years, whichever comes first. With your number plate we can tell you when your car is due. It's one of the engine jobs Peedo, Karsen's mechanic, has most experience with: we check the water pump and any coolant leaks at the same time.

How often should brake fluid be changed?

Most manufacturers say every 2 years, because it absorbs moisture over time and braking gets worse. We check it at every service.

My car has been parked for months. What should be checked?

Mainly the battery, tyres, brakes and fluid levels. Many of our customers spend part of the year outside Spain, so we see it often. If it won't start, message us with your number plate and where the car is.

Can you tell me what my car will need over the coming months?

Yes. We do a mechanical check and give you a quote so you can plan the costs without surprises. Customers ask us for it because many garages don't offer it.

Do you only replace what's needed?

Yes. We don't replace parts that are still fine and should last many more kilometres. We show you the old part and the cause of the problem, so you can check for yourself.

What parts do you use?

Original or equivalent-quality parts, depending on what the car needs and what you prefer.

What warranty do repairs have?

3 months or 2,000 km, whichever comes first. The warranty is stated on the invoice.
