Warning lights and fault diagnostics

If a light comes on in your dashboard, send us a photo on WhatsApp with your number plate and we'll tell you whether it's urgent: it's what we're asked most. At the workshop we plug in our multi-brand diagnostic equipment, check the car on the lift and confirm the cause before replacing anything.

Red or amber warning light?

As a general rule, a red light (temperature, oil pressure or brakes) means stop as soon as it's safe, and an amber or orange one (engine, ABS or airbag) means get the car checked soon. If in doubt, message us before you keep driving.

Reading the code isn't the repair

A fault code tells us where to look, not which part to replace. That's why we confirm the cause before we change anything, so you only pay for what's really needed.

With a computer, but also by ear

Many mechanical faults are found by listening, checking for play and road-testing the car, not just by looking at a screen. Reprogramming the software isn't always the answer.

Frequently asked questions

Diagnostics and warning lights

Can I keep driving with the engine warning light on?

It depends on the light and how the car is running. Send us a photo of the dashboard on WhatsApp and we'll tell you whether it's urgent. If needed, we diagnose it at the workshop with diagnostic equipment, and Peedo, Karsen's mechanic, also listens to the car, checks for play and road-tests it: the fix isn't always a new part or a software update.

Do you diagnose hybrid and automatic cars?

Yes. We work on petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, automatics too.

What about cars on foreign plates?

Yes, we diagnose and repair cars registered in any country.
